Family Adventure: Seal Walk

Join us for a 2-3 hour program. There will be a short overview and then we will walk to discover the seals that visit our area each winter.

Reservations are required and will be accepted starting two weeks prior to the program; please call (631) 668-5000.

Family Adventure programs are usually ideal for children ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, program fees are as follows: $4 per adult, $3 for children ages 3-17, children under 3 are free. Vehicle use fees are due upon arrival during the fee collection season (dates vary at different parks).

Join us as we kick off the New Year with a hike to explore the preserve. Discover the changes in the forest during the winter and search for signs of wildlife surviving the snow.

Reservations are required and will be accepted starting two weeks prior to the program. Please call (631) 581-1072.

Jones Beach State Park

Jones Beach State Park will be offering a series of walks to see wintering seals January through March. A State Park naturalist will lead visitors on an hour and a half leisurely beach walk to an area where up to four species of seals can be observed. Along the way, there will be opportunities to see many winter birds and to explore marine geology. Please dress appropriately and wear comfortable footwear for hiking. Binoculars are recommended. Meet at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center at West End Field #1.

Reservations are required and will be accepted beginning two weeks prior to each date. Space is limited. Fee: $4.00 per person, children under 3 are free (unless otherwise noted). If you are unable to keep your reservation, please call and cancel so that others may have the opportunity to attend. Latecomers will forfeit their reservation.
