International Migratory Bird Day Walk

Hallock State Park Preserve
Meet in Upper Parking Lot, Peak migration time for birds heading to their northern breeding grounds is now! This 3-mile bird walk along trails of the Preserve will observe many different species, particularly neotropical birds, such as warblers, grosbeaks, vireos and many more! Bring binoculars! Led by State Park Naturalist MaryLaura Lamont.

Meet at Visitor Center, This weekly walk and discussion with members of the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and park staff monitors for wildlife along the Park Preserve's mile of pristine Long Island Sound beachfront. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring gloves. Trash pickers and buckets will be provided, to help remove debris that can harm sea life.

Meet in Upper Parking Lot, A 2-mile bird walk that will observe a variety of birds that inhabit and breed in the park this time of year. Migration time is still ongoing, and we will find late migrants moving through the forest. Bring binoculars. Led by State Park Naturalist MaryLaura Lamont.

Meet at Visitor Center, Join us for a short presentation by an Atlantic Marine Conservation Society scientist on the ecosystems in the waters surrounding Long Island Sound. It will be followed by the weekly walk with park staff to monitor for wildlife along the Park Preserve's Long Island Sound beachfront. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring gloves. Trash pickers and buckets will be provided, to help remove debris that can harm sea life.
