Fly Fishing Workshop Series

Learn the basics of fly fishing and leave with the skills and confidence to get out on the water in this four-part workshop series led by expert, Len Savanella. Sessions 1 and 2 will cover the vocabulary and history of fly fishing, gear, casting, and fly tying. Sessions 3 and 4 will cover ecology and best practices and will take place in the stream so you can put your newfound skills to the test! Equipment will be provided but if you have your own, please bring it. Recommendations for gear and literary resources will be provided. Please join us for the Pocantico Center's second annual Community Day at the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center. Preserve educator, Kim Fendrich, will have a display of rocks, minerals, and fossils from around the world, uncovering the mysteries of Earth's 4.5-billion-year history one sample at a time. The day will include family-friendly interactive performances, hands-on art and STEAM activities, bilingual story time, garden activities, face painting, an open artist's studio, and complimentary pizza and ice cream.
