Both meetings will consist of an informal workshop from 5pm-7pm where participants can view draft plans and speak with staff and then from 7pm - 9pm there will be a presentation with an overview of the planning process and the park followed by an opportunity for public input.
The purpose of these workshops/public information meetings is to actively invite public participation and involvement in the planning process for Hamlin Beach State Park. Public participation will help State Parks in identifying issues, concerns and alternatives as well as determining the depth to which each of the topics is explored in the development plans. The four areas focused on in the plans are Areas 5 and 6, Yanty Marsh, the Park Entrance and the CCC camp.
For those unable to make a meeting in person, written comment is being accepted until Friday, June 29, 2012 and can be sent to: Salim Chishti, Planning Bureau, Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Albany, NY 12238 or via email at: hamlin.plan@parks.ny.gov.
