When the DeWitt Clinton Hotel opened in 1927, it filled a long standing need for a large, modern hotel in downtown Albany. Designed by architect Kenneth Franzheim, the 400-room hotel boasted the latest advancements, including a fireproof concrete structure clad in a traditional brick and stone exterior.
