Total cost of construction for the Interpretive Center was $1.5 million. The project was supported by City and State Capital Funds as well as $200,000 in private donations to the Trust. The NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation broke ground on the Center with its funding partners and friends on May 3, 2007. It opened to the public in November of 2008.
