The New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) helps communities achieve the social, cultural, economic, and environmental benefits associated with historic preservation. The following slide show highlights the variety of projects that have benefited from programs administered by the SHPO, including federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credits, state historic preservation grants, and historic preservation environmental review. The SHPO is headquartered in a former textile factory at Peebles Island State Park in Waterford.
