Built in the late 1890s, the former Berkley Hotel in Buffalo is an early example of a large, multistory building constructed of reinforced concrete, and hosted visitors to the Pan-American Exposition in the early 20th century. The hotel was later converted into an apartment building, became a rooming house, and was abandoned in the 1990s after decades of decline.
