This illustrated lecture by Site Interpreter Susan Overgard will highlight a few of the American and British women that performed brave deeds for their side, while also dispelling a few legends that sprung up after the war. The Trial of Major Andre

Join Gary Petagine and Sean Grady as they act out the Court Martial of Major John Andre, who had been captured in Tarrytown with the plans for West Point in his boot. Transferred to Tappan, NY, his trial took place at the Dutch Reformed Church. Hear historical details of the tribunal of one of the Revolution's most notorious spies. Please arrive early to secure a seat for this popular performance. Audience seating begins at 1:45 p.m.

Spencer’s Additional Regiment Encampment

Raised as an auxiliary force for Washington's Continental Army, the reenactors in Spencer's Additional Regiment will conduct camp activities while explaining the unit's start in New Jersey and how they followed the army. Spencer's Regiment also garrisoned Stony Point in 1780 and was present during the Arnold/Andre West Point affair.

Flax Breaking & Spinning: Barbara Johns will demonstrate spinning as done in the 18th century. From flax breaking to drop spindles and spinning wheels, Barbara will explain how these spun fibers turned into sheets of cloth for clothing. Food Preservation: Historian Tom Hunt has displays of common foodstuffs and explains the various methods that people living in the 18th century used to preserve and enhance their food in the days before refrigeration.
