Celebrate Black History Month

Wellesley Island State Park
In collaboration with Hawn Memorial Library, Wellesley Island State Park and Minna Anthony Common Center will host a children's program involving story time, discussion, and a short video. Library Director Laura Orvis will showcase some of the library's collection of Black History Month books, and the connection with some well-known activists in New York State. Following the video and discussion, there will be a craft stemming from the famous "I Have a Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Join us for an unforgettable viewing of the 2024 total solar eclipse at Wellesley Island State Park! We will have food trucks, amateur astronomers, eclipse activities, a solar telescope, and more! Bring a lawn chair and experience the magic of 100% totality. Eclipse glasses will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. 

Limited parking available, access will be capped once capacity is reached. Please be advised no campsites or overnight parking available.
