Join us for a weekend full of maple activities! Continual demonstrations of three different maples sugaring techniques will be doing on, including Iroquois stone boiling, iron pot fire pit boiling, and the use of a modern evaporator. Hourly walks led by park naturalists will highlight maple tree identification, how to tap a tree, and more! Pancake breakfasts will be available thanks to the Friends of Letchworth State Park from 10am to 1pm each day. Info@friendsofletchworth.com for more information or lager group logistics at least 5 days in advance.

Programs are free of charge, and pre-registration is not required but appreciated. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire program.

By Volunteer Annie O’Reilly, the Knee-High Naturalists program is designed to allow children ages 3-6 (must be accompanied by an adult) to explore the natural world. Themes change with each program, and activities may include storybook reading, crafts, or a short nature walk. Registration appreciated by calling 585-493-3680. This program is held every other Monday from January 14th to March 25th from 10:30am to 11:15am.

Learn about the life of our state bird, as well as some basic of nest box design and bluebird trails. This is an excellent primer for the Morning Bird Walk on April 26th or for anyone who would like to volunteer as a helper during the 23rd season of maintaining our Bluebird Trail. To date, more than 1,100 bluebirds have fledged from our boxes.
