Taconic State Park - Copake Falls Area
Walk back in time as we visit the Copake Iron Works and walk the Iron Workers Trail. Learn about how the iron production influenced the forest and how the forest helped shape the Ironworks. Our Park educator will take you through a brief history of the Copake Iron Works and development of the Park you see today, while we learn a little about the natural world around us. Free Event.

Want to brush up on some Bicycle Safety? Get ready for the season? Or get your kiddos ready for riding? Join the Columbia County Sheriffs, Department of Health, and Taconic State Park on this Bicycle Safety Course! Then take what you've learned out onto the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Don't have a bicycle? Rentals may be available at Bash Bish Bicycle, adjacent to the Park. Public Event, Free of charge.

Join us for a day in the Park with bird activities, crafts, education programs and a LIVE raptor show at 2pm. On this spring World Migratory Bird Day come learn about the I Bird NY Challenge, make a feathered friend craft, or chat with our park educator about how you can help birds. We'll get to see some of the critters that call the Park's water home and learn about their lives. Check with the office for other activities during the weekend.

Join us for a morning of mindful yoga in the beautiful outdoors guided by Gina of Mandala Yoga and Arts. These sessions are for all interested, from enthusiasts to those just starting their yoga experience. We will have a limited number of mats available for use, so we encourage folks to bring their own. Water bottles are encouraged. Call the park office with any questions.
