The State Board for Historic Preservation is an independent panel of experts whose function is to advise and provide recommendations on state and federal preservation programs. The board meets four times a year and the meetings are open to the public.
The Board will review and make recommendations on properties for nomination to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The Registers are the official lists of buildings, structures, districts, landscapes, objects and sites significant in the history, architecture, archeology and culture of New York and the nation.
Directions: The Taconic Region Administrative Headquarters is located on Old Post Road, off Route 9, near the main entrance of Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park.
