Southwick Beach State Park is spacious and popular, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long sandy beach. Campers and day-users enjoy picnicking, hiking and games on the playing fields. The park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to the environmentally-sensitive coastal sand dunes. Park nature, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails adjoin the wildlife management area and its trail system, which visitors are encouraged to use. During the winter, snowmobilers are permitted in the park. Deer hunting is allowed south of the park entrance in season.
Pavilion Information
Southwick Beach has three pavilions. The day use price is $100 and can accommodate up to 100 people. Reservation fee: $7.25 per rental. This is in addition to the rental fee. All fees paid in advance. Walk-in fee: $1.25 per rental. This is in addition to the rental fee. All fees paid at the facility. Check availability at ReserveAmerica.com.
The Vehicle Use Fee (VUF) to gain entry into the park is not included with pavilion rentals.
Parking is NOT GUARANTEED for pavilion rentals, please plan accordingly and arrive early as parking lots fill up quickly on weekend days. Pavilion rentals require permits if the following
activities are planned; Catering services, Wedding Ceremony, DJ/Band, Alcohol
Use Permit. You must complete a permit application attached in the documents
below. Please submit to the information listed on the application before the
date of your pavilion rental.
Pet Policy: A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by sign or directive. Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches (this does not apply to service animals).
Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.
