These plaster figurines were created by Alice Delafield Clarkson Livingston (1872?1964) in 1927. Alice was the wife of John Henry Livingston (1848?1927), mother of Janet and Honoria, an avid gardener, and an artist. Her sculpture often features classically garbed figures like these two females, probably a mother and daughter. She outlived her husband by 37 years and donated the family estate to New York State in 1962.
