Built 1761-65, Schuyler Mansion was the first Georgian Mansion in the Albany area. The family lived in the home from the 1760s to 1804, when Philip Schuyler died. The vestibule, designed by Philip Hooker, was added circa 1815. The Caretaker's Cottage in the background, now the Visitor Center, was built for the public opening of the site in 1917.
