The Red House Administration Building houses excellent natural history displays depicting the animals and plants found in the park. There is a large diorama which contains, among other animals, a North American black bear, a piebald deer and an albino woodchuck. A smaller diorama interprets the life of a beaver pond complete with an otter and turtles.
There are four large displays of birds that can be seen in the park as well as cases of other interesting natural resources which change periodically. Programs are offered in a variety of topics from the history or geology of the park to plants, animals and recreational opportunities within the park.
The center offers programs on environmental issues, guest speakers, or documentary films. There are special, age-appropriate programs for children and arrangements can be made with the programming staff for groups and organizations.
Patrons may pick up a schedule of programs at the rental office in the lobby. Arrangements with the park naturalists can also be made for special programs.
