New York State Parks and the State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are partnering to encourage visitors at state parks and other state-owned and -managed lands to enjoy their outdoor adventure while protecting these precious natural resources. The Love Our NY Lands campaign recognizes the record numbers of New Yorkers and visitors from around the globe who have discovered that the Empire State's scenic beauty and exceptional recreation make for the perfect destination.
The campaign offers tips to plan ahead, visit responsibly, and practice Leave No Trace™ principles, so that together we can help ensure these special places are protected for future generations. The goal is to provide visitors with the knowledge and tools necessary to reduce their impact, engage users to practice sustainable and safe recreation, and help all visitors feel welcome while visiting state lands.
