The Jones Beach Energy and Nature Center serves a unique role in engaging the public around one of the Long Island Power Authority's (LIPA) most important priorities– transitioning to a clean, low carbon energy future for Long Island and the Rockaways.

The state-of-the-art facility is made possible through a partnership between LIPA, The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and a consortium of public and private partners. As a primary sponsor of the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center, LIPA provides half of the operational support alongside New York State Parks.

For the first time within the New York State Parks' system, the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center specifically addresses the role of human energy consumption in shaping the natural landscape. The vision is to provide opportunities for park visitors and customers to learn more about electricity, clean energy, safety, and more. LIPA is proud to follow industry best practices of informing and engaging the public through an interactive energy center.

Through educational and interactive exhibits and programs, the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center is an ideal site for education and reflection on the power of nature and provides an incredible experience for families, businesses, students, and consumers to learn about how energy is produced and how choices they make can reduce their electric bills and impact the environment.

LIPA is a not-for-profit, publicly owned utility with a mission to provide clean, reliable, and affordable electric service to over 3 million people on Long Island and the Rockaways. LIPA contracts with PSEG Long Island to operate LIPA's transmission and distribution system under a long- term contract. For more information, visit www.lipower.org
