These markers, originally placed around 100 years ago, were painstakingly sanded, primed, and painted to their original glory. The group's mission is to promote trail usage for all and enhance its appeal to locals and tourists. As part of their ongoing efforts, the Friends of the Catharine Valley Trail will be hosting a First Day Hike event on New Year's Day at the Fairgrounds Lane entrance to the Catharine Valley Trail, with a chance to win an Empire Pass and receive commemorative swag.
