Lake Taghkanic State Park
The Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association hosts a monthly stargazing party in the West Beach parking lot. Bring your own telescopes and binoculars or use those provided by our members. You will be asked to provide your license plate number and make/model car, so park management and police have a record of who will be in park after hours. Grafton Lakes State Park
Calling all night owls! The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will
have telescopes to give you a tour of the night sky during this free program
held at the Deerfield Pavilion.
No preregistration required. Enter via main entrance and follow
signs to program-- first left off main entrance road. Please drive slowly in
the park at night. No charge.

Rockefeller State Park Preserve
Tickets available July 25 at 10 am, Experience the Preserve after dark! Join Shayla, Hailey, and Dave for a 4-mile hike on carriage roads lit by moonlight. We walk at a brisk pace and there will be hills; some hiking experience is recommended. Leashed dogs are welcome. Meet in the Visitor Center courtyard. Please bring water and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes. IMPORTANT: We leave promptly at scheduled times. This hike takes place after the park has closed; latecomers will not be able to join after the group has departed. In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled; you will be notified at least 2 hours in advance. Max: 40 people. Cost: $4 RockefellerStateParkPreserve.org/events.

Bring a blanket for some family fun! Hear some
of the myths and legends told by the stars and look for constellations and
shooting stars. If it is cloudy, we will still have activities to do, but it
will be a shorter program. Bring a flashlight, bug spray, and a blanket. Meet
at the reserve picnic area ball field.
