Join Stephanie Fischer for our monthly gentle morning yoga practice, imaged in the beauty of Frederic Church's expansive Hudson River views. Yoga of the Earth's practice is inspired by the nature surrounding us and focuses on creating an atmosphere that encourages awareness and connection with the natural world. Open to all levels, including beginners. We will be practicing on blankets to enhance our connection to the Earth. Some blankets may be provided, but please feel free to bring your own blanket and/or props if you wish. We do not recommend mats for this class.

Time: Weekdays, 4:00pm-8:00pm - Two matches per night, 5:15 PM & 6:30 PM

Take our Smart Start Kayak Course! During this course, you will learn the basic strokes and maneuvers to successfully paddle on calm, flat water. We have many diverse kayaks available for rent for $10.00. Bought your own kayak already? That's fine too! You can take the Smart Start course for FREE. Sign up today as there are a limited number of spaces!

Pre-registration is REQUIRED. No walk-ins will be allowed. PFD's are REQUIRED. Children must be 10 years of age to kayak on their own. Accommodations can be made for younger children. Please call the park office at (518) 827-8690 to register or for more information.

Through this 4- week outdoor series guided by Cleo Post (Rainbow Body Yoga) we will explore the basics of yoga, offering a gentle and easily accessible class for those new to yoga and modifications in poses for more seasoned practitioners. The class will begin and end with the fundamentals of meditation with a softly flowing yoga class in between. All are welcome. ​

Explore Sterling Forest with a hike on the Bare Rock trail to Bare Rock Vista. Join the Rangers for this moderate hike lasting about 3 hours. The hike will go through beautiful hardwood forest and provide stunning views of Greenwood Lake. Make sure to bring water, snacks, and wear sturdy shoes.

Indian Hill Hike

Take a break from the ordinary and accompany the Rangers on the Indian Hill loop hike. This moderate four-mile hike is perfect for both beginner and intermediate hikers looking for a more challenging hike. Indian Hill is not as well-known as our more popular trails, and the area provides fantastic views of the park in a more serene setting. It also boasts some of the largest and oldest oak trees which can be found in the park! We will meet at the Sterling Forest Visitor Center and carpool to the site as a group. Wear comfortable shoes and be sure to bring water and snacks.
