Let Freedom Ring: Celebrating America’s Independence

Join Senate House State Historic Site in celebrating Independence Day on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 11am-3pm. There will be a Patriotic Ceremony with dramatic readings and stirring songs. The Third Ulster Militia will be encamped on the grounds demonstrating 18th century camp life including hearthside cooking and colonial medicine. In addition, Ben Franklin will be here with some science experiments and hands-on activities. Musician Mark Rust will be performing patriotic songs for everyone to sing along with and enjoy. Try your hand at an 18th century game or toy. Guided tours of a new exhibit about Senate House will be provided by interpreters at the usual rate of $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for senior citizens, children 12 and under are free. Outdoor activities are free of charge. Everyone is invited to attend. The site is located on Fair St. in historic uptown Kingston, NY

History Camp is for children ages 8-12. They learn about colonial life through a variety of hands-on activities including churning butter, working in the garden, spinning wool into yarn, making “delft” tiles and more! Registration fee required.
