Food Truck Picnic Days featuring Gracie’s
Saturday, October 6, 2018 until Sunday, October 7, 2018 11:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Olana State Historic Site
(518) 828-0135

There was a time when a picnic was the most popular leisure activity in the United States. The picnic became popular in the USA in the 19h century as a meal taken outdoors (al fresco) as part of an excursion – ideally in scenic surroundings, such as a park, lakeside, or other place affording an interesting view. So that pretty much sums up why we think Food Truck Picnic days are a good idea at Olana. Pack your chairs, blankets, bring your own coolers and we have your food needs covered. Since there are three different food trucks this season, you can come multiple times and always experience a new menu; and you’ll always get a seat with a view! Grab your family and friends and plan a classic picnic adventure at OLANA this fall. Gracie’s Food Truck serves American classics like burgers, fries, and doughnuts. Owners and chefs Allyson and Andrew are genuinely passionate about food: they drive to area farms to pick up their ingredients, prepare everything from the condiments to the sodas from scratch, and the result is a one-of-a-kind fast-food experience.

Olana State Historic Site

Artists offer a unique lens with which to “read” an artist’s home & landscape. This season TOP partners with the Institute for Arab and Islamic Art in NYC to bring a dynamic mix of contemporary artists to Olana to layer their perceptions of Middle Eastern influences in Church’s home of American landscape painting. During this series, artists use many disciplines and “poetic license” to talk about Olana and the exhibition Costumes & Customs with concepts and connections that are unique to the guide. This is not a traditional house tour! Artist-led tours are accompanied by TOP’s Director of Education and end with a glass of wine and a snack on the piazza near sunset.
