In Their Own Words, The Battle for Fort Clinton!

Fort Montgomery State Historic Site
Come for a unique, walking tour of one of the Hudson Valley's most dramatic battle sites! Using firsthand accounts and archaeological data, this tour will chart the flow of the battle of the Twin Forts starting at Bear Mtn and ending up at Fort Clinton (today site of Trailside Museums and Zoo) focusing on the intense fighting that happened in and around Fort Clinton on the day of the battle. Twin Forts Day

Fort Montgomery State Historic Site
Join the Fort Montgomery Battle Site Association as they commemorate the 246th anniversary of the battle for Forts Montgomery and Clinton and bring to life the people who lived here through camp life demonstrations and children's activities. In addition to reenactors from the 5th New York Regiment, Lambs and Mott's Artillery Companies, there will be military drill, dramatic performances, and fife and drum music throughout the day. Please note there will be NO BATTLE REENACTMENT. 

Dramatic Performances at 12:00 and 2:00 PM will feature the story of Hugh Morrison, an 8 yr old boy present on the day of the battle! Fife and Drum Music Performances followed by Cannon-Firing Demonstrations at 11AM and 1:00 PM!
