Not suitable for younger children. Bring bug spray and a flashlight. By advance reservation only, please call 845-786-2521. Fee: $5.00 adults / $4.00 seniors and children (must be 10 years and over)

243rd Anniversary of the Storming of Stony Point

Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site
Celebrate the Storming of Stony Point with reenactors from the 2nd NY Regiment, Lamb's Artillery, the 3rd NJ Greys and the 4th NJ Volunteers. Military drills, musket demonstrations and artillery demonstrations will take place all day during this living history event. Visit the 18th century camp and talk with the staff and reenactors to learn about the lives of soldiers, Loyalists and the women and children who were all impacted by the war. Note: This will not be a battle reenactment.

Spinning and Dyeing

Barbara Johns will demonstrate spinning and dyeing of wool and flax fibers as done in the 18th century. From flax breaking to drop spindles and spinning wheels, Barbara will explain how these spun fibers turned into sheets of cloth for clothing, covering all aspects of fiber arts during the period of the American Revolution.

Muskets and cannons will roar throughout the day during this living history event. Watch soldiers conducting military drills, and talk with them about how the American Revolution was fought. Visit the 18th century camp to learn about camp life from staff and the men and women of the 2nd NY Regiment. Lamb's Artillery will highlight their service as the main artillery unit of the Hudson Highlands during the war. This is our last event of the season, so don't miss it! . Note: This will not be a battle reenactment.
