Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park
In connection with Ossining's nearby Village Fair, meet at the weir structure, located at the north end of the Aqueduct Arch in Ossining (on Ann St. between Aqueduct & Malcolm Streets, Ossining). Parking lots at the nearby Joseph Caputo Center, which is located at 95 Broadway, Ossining, NY 10562, just west of Rte. 9/Highland Avenue at the junction of Croton Avenue (Rte. 133). From Metro-North Ossining Train Station by taxi or a 15-minute uphill walk. Enter the weir and descend into the original 1842 brick water tunnel and learn its history. Check

The Alexander Smith and Sons' Carpet Company was once the largest carpet manufacturer in the world, located mere blocks from the Old Croton Aqueduct in Yonkers. Join us for a talk on the history of this powerhouse company that once defined an industry and a city, employing more than a third of the workforce in Yonkers at its peak. Although the factory was closed in 1954 and the company moved south, from technology to philanthropy, the successes and contributions of the family and its businesses still resonate today. The talk will be delivered by local Yonkers historian and trustee of the Hudson River Museum, Angelique Piwinski. Light refreshments are served at 2:30 with the talk starting at 3. 2:30pm-4:30pm, Location: Dobbs Ferry, Free, Ages: All Ages.

Meet at the benches in front (on the south side) of the Joseph Caputo Center, which is located at 95 Broadway, Ossining, NY 10562, just west of Rte. 9/Highland Ave. at the junction of Croton Ave. (Rte. 133) (from Metro-North Ossining Train Station by taxi or 15-minute uphill walk). Free, easy, 2 miles/2 hours (total) loop hike north along the Aqueduct and atop the beautiful Croton Dam. Meet near the restrooms at the rear (south end) of the parking lot at Croton Gorge Park, Rte. 129, Cortlandt, NY. 10567, GPS Coordinates: 41°13′ 20.46" N -73°51′12.59" W. Note: Fee of $10/car to enter park. The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam, the trailhead of the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail. The Aqueduct was completed in 1842 to supply fresh water to a thirsty New York City. (From Metro-North Hudson Line Croton-Harmon Train Station: 15-minute taxi.) Required: Registration at

Bring the family to the Keeper's House for the next installment of our Movies on the Trail kids series with Frozen! After her older sister, Elsa, lost control of her powers plunged their homeland into eternal winter, Anna frantically tries to track her down to undo the damage. With the help of some unlikely friends, will Anna be able reverse the permeant winter and bring a thaw to Arendelle and her sister's heart? All movies are shown on the east lawn of the Keeper's house and is free of charge!
