Fran Combs Berger has been a public Storyteller for the past 39 years, and she grew up hearing stories from her elders, neighbors and family in rural Oklahoma. She devoured books of fairy tales, folklore, mystery and magic as she volunteered at her local library. Her repertoire includes folk tales from around the world, true stories from rural Oklahoma, various literary tales for your enjoyment, and stories of her daddy's Cowboy adventures, too. Her stories are suitable for all ages. Registration required for those without a camping reservation. Call 518-872-0800.

Meet at the Visitor Center. Participants will come to understand the development of Thacher Park's unique landscapes and the terms associated with them. We will observe the limestone layers and the resurging underground streams, and visit the active sinkhole and other unique areas. Each participant is expected to follow the group leader in their own vehicle as we caravan to the different sites. Registration recommended. Call 518-872-0800.

Meet at Perimeter Trailhead Accessed by Ryan Road, Bring Flashlights/Head Lamps, Ages 13+. Enjoy Nature as the day ends. Take a hike along the Perimeter trail to where it intersects the Salisbury trail and back. Explore the pond with dip nets to search for amphibians and other life thriving in the pond. Bring comfortable hiking shoes and/or muck boots. Registration Required. Call 518-872-0800.
