Two Views for One Snowshoe Outing at Minnewaska

Sunday, January 24, 2021 09:30 AM - 01:00 PM

Join Laura Conner, Environmental Educator, for a stimulating and refreshing two-mile hike to two scenic overlooks in the Peter's Kill Area, both of which feature stunning views. We'll hike a short distance on the Red Loop and Bullwheel Footpaths to reach the High Peter's Kill Footpath. Once on this trail, we'll hike to each of the views, which feature the Catskill Mountains and the iconic Sky Top observation tower. While the distance is relatively short, there are a few moderate hills, which may be difficult for some. A limited number of snowshoes are available for participants to borrow for this program from the education department, located at the Peter's Kill Area. Plan to arrive at 9:00 a.m. if you would like to borrow snowshoes. If there is insufficient snow cover, this program will be offered as a hike. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to ten individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of your immediate household. Meet at the Peter's Kill Park Office. Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.
