Mountain Laurels on Mossy Glen Footpath Hike at Minnewaska

Sunday, June 13, 2021 09:30 AM - 01:00 PM

Mid-June is the best time to walk amongst the gorgeous mountain laurel blossoms and Mossy Glenn Footpath is one of the nicest routes to hike to see this show. Laura Conner, Environmental Educator, will lead this four-mile round trip hike along the quietly babbling edges of the Peter's Kill stream and through the cool hemlock forests and tropical-feeling rhododendron stands of the Mossy Glen Footpath. This trail does include some tricky footing, but the return trip along the Lower Awosting Carriage Road is an easy stroll. Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to nine individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household. Meet at the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center. Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.
