Solstice Hike to Echo Rock and around Lake Minnewaska at Minnewaska

Join Nick Martin, Park Educator, for an approximately four-mile hike on five historic carriage roads to reach Echo Rock and circle around most of Lake Minnewaska. Starting from the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center, we'll hike around the west side of Lake Minnewaska Carriage Road until we intersect Castle Point Carriage Road. Next, we'll continue west on this carriage road until we intersect the Hamilton Point Connector. Then, we'll continue on the Hamilton Point Carriage Road to Echo Rock, a cliffside, scenic vista that offers an expansive view over the Palmaghatt Ravine. We will return to Lake Minnewaska by heading back on the Hamilton Point and Millbrook Mountain Carriage Roads. Once we return to Lake Minnewaska, we will head towards the south side of the Lake and continue our return trip along its east side, stopping along the way to take in the view of the Wallkill Valley.
