Begin 2025 with a First Day Hike at Minnewaska! Join us for a two-and-a-half-mile hike in the Peter's Kill Area, which is located one mile east of the main entrance for Minnewaska. From the parking area, we will hike on the Red Loop, Bullwheel, and High Peter's Kill Footpaths to reach two scenic vistas. If the weather is clear, these scenic vistas offer stunning views of the Park Preserve, Clove Valley, the Catskill Mountains, and beyond. This hike includes a few moderate uphill sections and rocky terrain that some may find challenging. If conditions are icy, participants are encouraged to bring micro spikes or other ice traction devices and to dress appropriately for the cold.
