Snowshoe Loop Hike at the Peter’s Kill Area of Minnewaska

Saturday, January 18, 2025 09:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Join Nick Martin, Park Educator, for a snowshoe hike in the woods of the Peter's Kill Area of Minnewaska. During this approximately two-mile recreational program, we will snowshoe the various footpaths in the Peter's Kill Area to make a loop. Departing from the parking area, this outing will take participants on the Red Loop, Bullwheel, High Peter's Kill, and Yellow Connector Footpaths, returning on the Red Loop Footpath. While the distance of this outing is relatively short, there a few sustained hills and rocky terrain that some may find challenging. A limited number of snowshoes are available for participants to borrow for this program from the Education Department. Please plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. if you will be borrowing snowshoes. If there is insufficient snow cover, this program will be offered as a hike and participants are highly encouraged to bring along microspikes or other ice traction devices. Pre-registration is required by calling the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center at 845-255-0752.
