GVGSP PASSPORT SELF-GUIDED HIKE SERIES – Oakland Rd to Short Tract Rd (Wegmans Hike Number 10)

Tuesday, June 1, 2021 until Wednesday, June 30, 2021

Start at the parking area on the west side of Oakland Rd just north of Route 436. (42.578161, -77.971220) (2 miles, 1 mile to trail marker round trip)

Genesee Valley Greenway State Park (GVGSP) is offering hikes that are part of Wegmans' Eat Well, Live Well "Passport to Family Wellness" program, designed to help employees and area residents get moving and enjoy healthier, better lives. The hikes vary in distance and cover sections in the northern, middle and southern portions of the Greenway. For each hike, there is a trail marker where a crayon or pencil can be used to create a rubbing in the Passport booklet. Participants may submit six rubbings for Wegmans coupons or ten rubbings for a chance to win a New York State Empire Passport. The Empire Passport provides unlimited day use vehicle entry to most of New York's State parks and recreational facilities. Wegmans Passport booklets are available at Wegmans locations near the Greenway, the Letchworth State Park Visitor Center, the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway office in Mt. Morris and Livingston Chamber of Commerce Tourist Information Office. The self-guided interpretive hike series will include the history of the Genesee Valley Greenway and the town in which the hike is located. Each hike will be set up with interpretive signs and information for the entire month. Depending on the length of the hike, they will take approximately 2-4 hours to complete.
