School Break Programs at Sam’s Point: Be A Geologist Hike around Lake Maratanza

Wednesday, April 16, 2025 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Join Becca Howe-Parisio, Environmental Educator, for this three-mile loop walk to view the magnificent Lake Maratanza. On our way to the Lake, we will stop at the Sam's Point Overlook, where we will discover some features left by the last glaciers. Once we reach the Lake, we will discuss the geologic process that formed this water body. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18. Infants and young children must be in a secure carrier or jogging-type stroller designed for rough terrain for the duration of the hike. The total number of participants for this program is limited to 20 individuals. Meet at the Sam's Point Visitor Center. Pre-registration is required by calling the Sam's Point Visitor Center at 845-647-7989.
