Meandering among the Mansions of the Historic Millionaires Irvington and Tarrytown Walk

Free, easy 4-mile/3 hour loop beginning and ending at Irvington Village Hall at 85 Main Street, Irvington. Enjoy the mostly level, shaded walk in one of the most historic sections of the Aqueduct. First stop is the Tiffany Reading Room inside Village Hall, to view one of the only remaining Louis Comfort Tiffany interiors. View the remarkable Villa Lewaro, the estate of Madam CJWalker, the African-American entrepreneur who was America's first female self-made millionaire. Walk the grounds of Lyndhurst Mansion, country home of notorious robber baron, Jay Gould and location site for HBO's "The Gilded Age." Along the way, we will talk about the history of the Aqueduct, the origins of the Village of Irvington and Washington Irving's fascinating connection with the Village.
