The Black River Trail is a 4.5 mile stretch of paved trail, which has been converter from an old rail road bed. The terrain is woodland and follows the Black River for 3.5 mile. This trail presents recreational opportunities for hiking, jogging, biking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.

Hours of Operation

  • The trail is open from dawn to dusk.

Start time: 9am
End time: 2pm

Meeting Location: 25534 Ridge Road, Watertown NY 13601. Parking Instructions: Please park at the Ridge Road parking area .Ages: Appropriate for 13 and up

Volunteer Project: Trail clean up and brush removal. Volunteers can clean up the trail and cut back brush that is encroaching the trail using loppers. Loppers will be provided by the park. Please bring: Garden gloves, water, snack
