Know Before You Go: As we work to replace stairs, remove invasive species and create new trails there may be times with the trails have to be closed. We encourage you to call 716-284-4691 before heading out.

Update October 19, 2021- Whirlpool Stairs are closed through June 2022 as they are being reconstructed. There is a detour, which will take hikers out to Trail 1 and back, around a small section of the rim trail at the head of the stars. The lower trail remains open and accessible via the Devil's Hole Trail

Devil's Hole State Park overlooks the Devil's Hole Rapids. The park has picnic areas, scenic overlooks and hiking trails, and is one of the more popular spots for fishing. A stone staircase leads down to the base of the gorge and the Devil's Hole Trail, which offers spectacular views of the rapids and gorge rock layers.
