Coles Creek State Park has wooded and open campsites near a swimming beach on Lake St. Lawrence. The lake is ideal for boating and fishing as well. A marina on the mouth of Coles Creek lies just north of the park entrance. The park also has a playground, playing fields and a large pavilion.

Household pets only; caged or on a leash not more than 6 feet. Not permitted in picnic or bathing areas. Must have proof of current rabies vaccination; certificate of inoculation or dated collar tag. A pet-free camping loop is offered. For campers, if your site allows pets, there is a two-pet maximum.

Hours of Operation

  • The park open in mid-May and closes after Columbus Day.
  • 2017 Swimming Season: 6/24 - 9/4, 10 am - 6 pm.
  • 2017 Camping/Cabin Season: 5/13 - 9/10
  • Boat Dockage: By Concession
  • Shelter Rentals (2): 5/13 - 9/10, by permit
  • Waterfowl hunting is permitted in season. Deer hunting is allowed in season in a designated area south of Route. 37.

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.

The Empire Pass -- whether a card for $80 or a vehicle-affixed decal for $65 -- is your key to all-season enjoyment with unlimited day-use entry at most facilities operated by State Parks and the State Dept. of Environmental Conservation including forests, beaches, trails and more. Come join us for the morning as we learn about the wonderful birds in our area! Members of the Student Conservation Association will lead a short bird walk around the park and will have bird-related games and activities for the kids. We will have binoculars and field guides on hand for you to borrow. Let's plan on meeting at the beach pavilion at 10 am!

Join us at Coles Creek State Park, Saturday August 3rd for a tree identification walk. Learn about the common trees found in our region, while enjoying some of our most scenic trails in the park. Hosted by the SCA members of New York State Parks, the walk will begin at 10 am at the beach pavilion. All ages are welcome for this free program!

Fishing for Fun

Come on down to the river to learn more about fishing. We will be hosting a program that will go over techniques for catching fish, discussing fish species of the St. Lawrence River, and the role those fish play in the water. After our program, you will get a chance to go out and reel in some fish on your own. All ages are welcome to attend our program. We hope to see you there!
