Macomb Reservation State Park lies just outside the Adirondack Park along the Salmon River's course toward Lake Champlain. Surrounded by state land, the park has a wilderness atmosphere. Visitors can use non-motorized boats and fish in Davis pond or the Salmon River. The park has playing fields, a picnic area, a self-guided nature trail, a hiking trail, electric and non-electric wooded campsites. Winter activities include ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Must have proof of current rabies vaccination - certificate inoculation or dated collar tag. Household pets only, caged or on a leash, not more than 6 feet. Not permitted in picnic or bathing areas. For campers, if your site allows pets, there is a two-pet maximum.

Hours of Operation

  • The park opens in mid May and closes after Labor Day.
  • 2017 Swimming Season: 7/8 - 9/4; 11 am - 7 pm. Saturdays Only
  • 2017 Camping/Cabin Season: 5/27 - 9/4
  • Shelter Rentals (2): 5/27 - 9/4; by permit

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.

The Empire Pass -- whether a card for $80 or a vehicle-affixed decal for $65 -- is your key to all-season enjoyment with unlimited day-use entry at most facilities operated by State Parks and the State Dept. of Environmental Conservation including forests, beaches, trails and more. Naturalist Walk

Join park naturalist, Grace Mayhew, for a guided walk along moderate trails. Please meet at the recreation center on the day-use side of park. Topics will include wildflowers, tree identification, birds, mammals, reptiles, and general ecology!

Join park naturalist, Grace Mayhew, inside the recreation hall located on the day use side of the park. Participants will make a bird feeder out of recycled materials. Please bring a recycled carton; all other supplies will be provided.
