Restrooms Closed for Winter
Please be advised that the restrooms are closed for the winter and will reopen in the spring. The only year round restroom facility in Harriman State Park is located at Silvermine.
Seasonal Road Closures
The following roads are now closed from December 1st to April 1st: • Palisades Interstate Parkway, Exit 16 - Lake Welch Drive and Tiorati Brook Rd • Arden Valley Rd • Rt 106 from Rt 17 to Kanawauke Traffic Circle (you can still access the Kanawauke Picnic Area from the traffic circle) • Perkins Memorial Drive at Bear Mountain State Park Access to the park is still available from Seven Lakes Drive in Sloatsburg, as well as Exits 15 and 18 off the Palisades Parkway.
Lake Tiorati was formed by clearing swampland in Harriman State Park and constructing a concrete dam to make two ponds into one large lake. Surrounded by meadows and rolling, wooded hills, the park offers excellent swimming, fishing, boating and picnicking. In winter, if conditions allow, the lake is used for ice fishing. The pioneer campsites near the lake may be used by bonafide groups.
Scout camping is available.
Biking - Helmets required.
Fishing - NYS fishing license required.
Launch Site - Boat permit and key required.
Group camping is available.
Current Water Quality - Beach Results
Pets: Dogs only, must be on a leash not more than 6 feet at all times. Not allowed in buildings or beach/bathing areas. Must display rabies tag. Not permitted in the following areas of Harriman State Park: Beaver Pond Campground, Welch Beach, Sebago Cabins.
Office Hours - 8:00AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 3:30PM; seven days a week, year round

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.
