Macomb Reservation State Park lies just outside the Adirondack Park along the Salmon River's course toward Lake Champlain. Surrounded by state land, the park has a wilderness atmosphere. Visitors can use non-motorized boats and fish in Davis pond or the Salmon River. The park has playing fields, a picnic area, a self-guided nature trail, a hiking trail, electric and non-electric wooded campsites. Winter activities include ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Pavilion Information
Macomb Reservation has two pavilions. The day use price is $50 and can accommodate 34 to 47 people. Check availability at ReserveAmerica.com.

Pet Policy: A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by sign or directive. Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches (this does not apply to service animals).

Hours of Operation

  • The park opens in mid May and closes after Labor Day.
  • 2020 Swimming Season: 6/20 - 9/7, 10 am to 6 pm
  • 2020 Camping/Cabin Season: 6/1 - 9/6
  • Shelter Rentals (2): 5/24 - 10/11; by permit All new pavilion/shelter reservations for the 2020 season have been suspended until further notice. 

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.

The easy-to-use Empire Pass card is $80- and your key to all-season enjoyment with unlimited day-use entry at most facilities operated by State Parks and the State Dept. of Environmental Conservation including forests, beaches, trails and more. Join a park naturalist for a sunset walk exploring the nature trails and searching for animal and plant life in the diverse habitats of the park. Length of walk will be approximately 1 mile. All ages welcome! Please bring a flashlight and a facemask.

The maximum number of participants for this program is 9. Meet in day-use area by the Rec Center.
