Seasonal Road Closures (Dec 1 – Apr 1): The following road closures are now in effect for the winter season.

  • Palisades Parkway, Exit 16 (Tiorati Brook Rd and Lake Welch Drive)
  • Arden Valley Rd (Please note: Elk Pens Hikers Lot is still accessible off Rt 17)
  • County Rt 106/Kanawauke Rd, from the Kanawauke Traffic Circle to Rt 17 ( Please note: Kanawauke Picnic Area is still accessible off the Kanawauke Traffic Circle, the road is closed after the parking lot)
  • Perkins Memorial Drive

Seven Lakes Drive remains open.

Restrooms: Please be advised there is limited availability during the Fall and Winter. Restroom facilities and water fountains will reopen again in the Spring. The restroom available year round is located at the Silvermine Picnic Area.

All trail shelters are closed at this time. You can still pitch your tent within 300 ft of the shelters as per the regular guidelines.

The Silver Mine area of Harriman State Park offers picnic grounds, fishing and hiking. Biking - helmets required.

Fishing - NYS fishing license required.

Launch Sites - Boat permit required. *2020 PIPC Boat Permits & 2020 Tiorati/ Welch Keys are SOLD OUT*

Dogs only, must be on a leash not more than 6 feet at all times. Not allowed in buildings or beach/bathing areas. Must display rabies tag. Not permitted in the following areas of Harriman State Park: Beaver Pond Campground, Welch Beach, Sebago Cabins.

Hours of Operation

  • The park is open year round, dawn to dusk.
  • Ice Skating available in season

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.
