The Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association hosts a monthly stargazing party in the West Beach parking lot. Bring your own telescopes and binoculars or use those provided by our members. RSVP is required at least one day beforehand. You will be asked to provide your license plate number and make/model car, so Park Management and Police have a record of who will be in park after hours. More info at https://www.meetup.com/mhastro. Have you ever dreamed about spending a moonlit evening on the Walkway while enjoying scenic views of the Hudson River Valley? Here’s your chance! Enjoy breathtaking twilight views from 212 feet above the Hudson River. View the night sky with telescopes provided by the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association (weather permitting).

For the safety of all, bicycles, rollerblades, and skateboards are not permitted for this event. If you bring your furry friends along for the fun, all pets must be on a 4-foot non-retractable leash with a light up collar (glow sticks will be available while supplies last). Complimentary to attend for Walkway members, non-members are asked for a suggested donation.

Back by popular demand, Mine Kill is hosting another moonlit paddle! Participants will get the chance to paddle around the reservoir and if the water is high enough, we might even be able to paddle up the creek. This is a great way to have some fun, test your skills, and listen for some wildlife on a nice relaxing night. Canoes are welcome to join!

Space is very limited, so sign up fast! Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Participants must be 10 years of age or older. Kayaks are available to rent for $10.00. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. PFD's are REQUIRED and must be worn AT ALL TIMES. For more information or to sign up, please call the park office at (518) 827-8690.

Experience and see Sterling Forest in a whole new light and join the Rangers for a NIGHT hike to the Fire Tower. Hike in the light of a full moon, stargaze, and view the illuminated skyline of Manhattan. The hike will depart at 5:30 PM sharp and will arrive at the Fire Tower in time to view the sunset. We will be walking back in the dark, so headlamps or flashlights are a MUST and will not be provided. All are welcome, and be sure to bring water, snacks, and wear sturdy shoes.

Enjoy the Park's trails under the nearly Full Beaver Moon. Use your night-vision and your ears to detect the presence of wildlife as we walk along the Long Path from Mine Kill to the New York Power Authority Visitors Center. Please wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the weather, and meet at the Mine Kill State Park Office.
