Discover the "owl"mazing world of owl pellets in this
free educational program! This hands-on activity is for kids age 6-12 and will
involve dissecting individual owl pellets to learn "owl" you need to
know about owl eating habits. This "owl"some program will be held on
October 12th at 2pm at the Grafton Lakes State Park Welcome Center. Please
register ahead of time by calling 518-279-1155. It's sure to be a hoot!

Come experience the park in the dark! Join an educator for a
guided hike on October 17th to learn about the nocturnal wildlife of the park,
as well as the mythology and history behind the Hunter's Moon. We'll be meeting
at the Grafton Lakes Welcome Center at 6pm and departing soon afterwards. This
hike is open to ages 9+ and costs $5 per person. Flashlights will be provided,
but please make sure to bring warm clothes! Please register ahead of time by
calling 518-279-1155.

Join us for our annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail on Saturday,
October 19, 2024. Discover some of our wonderful forest friends along the
jack-o-lantern lit trail. Participate in fun fall activities including a
bonfire and crafts at the welcome center. Be sure to wear a costume! Special
guest, Uncharted Wild, will also be in attendance showing off some of their
spook-tacular creatures. Time slots begin at 3:00PM and go every 15 minutes through 7:30PM.
Time slots before 5:00pm are designated for families with small children, or
those with sensory sensitivities. Preregistration is required to reserve your
family's time slot; please call 518-279-1155, ext. 2. Cost for this program is
$4/person.

casual bird-watching stroll, starting from the Welcome Center. Binoculars are
provided! Great for anyone looking for a relaxing yet engaging activity during
the weekday. Not geared specifically for children, but they are welcome. This

Grab a warm sweater and a blanket! Its that time of the year
again, lets go out sit by the fire and tell stories like we always have. Join
us early on at 7 for a reading of a kids book by the fire, and stay late for 8
where we get to tell some scary stories. Bring your best scary story, some
snacks, and a warm smile so you're ready to meet some new people and enjoy the
night! OH, and the best part is, we will have SMORES!!!

Join educator Wren for a guided origami session at our Welcome
Center! We will be making several different animals and plants of beginner to
medium difficulty. Paper in an assortment of colors and patterns will be
provided. This program costs $2 per crafter, and is for ages 7+ for dexterity
