Child and Family Craft Program: Koinobori/Japanese Carp Windsocks
Saturday, May 10, 2025 03:00 PM - 04:00 PM
A Japanese tradition, the flying of carp or koi shaped kites are used to honor children on Children's Day in early May. Families fly kites as a symbol of their wishes for their children. A group of carp kites can be arranged in a certain way to symbolize the family. For this program, each member of the family is encouraged to decorate their own carp windsock. All materials and instruction will be provided. This program will take place outdoors, weather permitting, with alternate indoor space if needed. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Cost: $5 per kite.
