Native Warm Season Grassland

Sunday, September 8, 2024 09:30 AM - 11:30 AM

In collaboration with the Preserve, over the past several years Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture has been running a project in the Buttermilk Hill area to convert approximately 45 acres of our introduced cool season grassland back to climate-adaptive native warm season grasses and pollinator-friendly, grazing-tolerant native wildflowers. Join Elijah Goodwin, Director of Ecological Monitoring at Stone Barns, for a 2-mile walk to learn more about this important project and what we hope to gain from the research we're conducting. We'll observe birds, insects, plants, and other wildlife along the way. Max: 30 people. Cost: $4.
Registration: Not required
