Lecture: The World of Rebecca Franks

Site Interpreter Joanne Stein-Kohler has studied the Jewish experience in the years leading up to and after the American Revolution through the lens of Rebecca Franks, the "Jewish Belle" of Philadelphia. Miss Franks married Lt. Col. Henry Johnson, the British officer who lost the battle of Stony Point to General Anthony Wayne. Rebecca Franks was distantly related to David S. Franks, the subject of the performance being held on September 20th (listed above). Indoor seating is limited to 30 people for this PowerPoint presentation.
