The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) will hold a public hearing on a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed land exchange at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7 at The Gallery at Rockefeller State Park Preserve, 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, NY.
State Parks is proposing the land exchange with an adjacent private land owner to protect an important viewshed area within the Rockfeller State Park Preserve and the surrounding area from development. State Parks proposes to transfer a 6.856-acre parcel of the Preserve to an adjacent private landowner in exchange for a 6.856-acre parcel of this highly scenic pastoral land from the private owner.
