The State Board for Historic Preservation is an independent panel of experts whose function is to advise and provide recommendations on state and federal preservation programs. The board meets four times a year and the meetings are open to the public. The Board will review and make recommendations on properties for nomination to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The Registers are the official lists of buildings structures, landscapes, objects and sites significant in the history, architecture, archaeology and culture of New York and the nation.
